We have five day centres in East Kent; Canterbury, Ashford, Dover, Folkestone and Thanet, where we provide social rehabilitation activities for adults age 18 upwards. Many people find it extremely difficult to return to community living after a head injury and can become socially isolated, losing the support of family or friends along the way. Our experiences will range from supporting loved ones or friends, to being the victim of a crime committed by someone to fund their use.At SMART we believe everyone has the ability to change. By empowering people to break the cycle of addiction, we help them transform their future, and lead fulfilling and rewarding lives.Reaching and maintaining recovery requires much more than absence of drugs or alcohol; we are experienced in meeting the many challenges that vulnerable people face; such as access to secure housing, education and employment opportunities, and a supportive community. How you can help us However big or small your gift is, you can be sure that it will mean a lot to the people we work with. For example: £20 could pay for a weekly gym pass; a positive recovery activity for a service user £50 could fund a week of vital support from a volunteer Mentor £66 could pay for a Mother and Toddler Recovery support group £120 could fund a course of vaccinations for a service user, protecting them from blood-borne viruses If you would like to raise money in support of our work improving opportunities for vulnerable people, we can help you make it happen. If you have an idea, please get in touch. Thank you!!

(UK, 1057024) Browse eventsWe support the unpaid carers in Coventry and Warwickshire who look after friends or family members who are elderly, have a disability or are frail due to poor health. Caring is often a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week role. This can often have a detrimental effect on the carers own health. For this reason we aim to offer the carer a break by taking their place and looking after their loved one for a short while. This gives carers the time to catch up with chores, take part in a recreational activity or even just relax for a short time. This short while to 'recharge' can help prevent the decline in the carers health.
