GSRE is backed up by a team of unpaid volunteers who strive to aid and promote responsible ownership of the breed. GSRE aim is to be the prevention and not always the cure, through offering education on the lovely breed and how to look after these amazingly intelligent and energetic dogs. We not only look to re-home dogs but keep them in their original homes by offering training and behaviour advice. Through our volunteers and website we want to inform people on all aspects of dog ownership before they decide to take the plunge especially as German Shepherd Dogs are a large working breed and are not suitable for everyone. The GSRE works alongside many other rescues which means that through team work and pulling together we can help even more dogs in need. Please help today!

The loss of biodiversity worldwide has a direct impact on all of us: it affects world food supplies and water availability; it limits the search for new medicines; it increases our vulnerability to natural distasters and heightens the effects of global warming. Our work has never been more urgent. In the last hundred years tigers have declined by 95%, hawksbill sea turtles by 80%. Closer to home, water voles have plummeted by 90% since the 1980s and dormice are now extinct across half their original range. We are helping tigers in Sumatra, hawkbill sea turtles around South America, water voles and dormice in the UK and many other species besides. We fulfill our mission by: - funding and commissioning conservation projects that assess the problem and put effective solutions into place - leading practical conservation in the field on priority species and habitats - managing our nature reserves to protect their endangered species - tracking our progress through careful monitoring of wildlife populations - educating, inspiring and involving people in conserving endangered species. YTD Raised: £230.00Our aim is to enable children of all backgrounds to learn riding, stable management and horse care in a safe and fun environment We have been teaching children how to get horses ready to ride, how to clean up after them and every aspect of how to look after a horse since 1972. We are run by volunteers and are open 50 weeks of the year, with around 160 children attending over four sessions every weekend. As well as learning about riding and horse care, Rangers learn other skills like teamwork, leadership and respect for people and animals. They spend a lot of time outside doing physical activities likepoo-picking the fields, mucking out stables and cleaning the yard. We run first aid courses and teach road safety. The monthly donation paid by our members is a fraction of what they would pay for the equivalent at a local riding stable. We keep the donations low to maintain accessibility for all income groups, so we only just cover the upkeep of the farm and horses. Anything else we need has to be paid for by fundraising.
