Animals In Distress (UK, 515886) Browse events

YTD Raised: £748.00

Animals in Distress started in 1967 and they now Support two Sanctuaries. Irlam Site has a 24hr emergency service and rescues any type of animal that needs us day or night. Wildlife is rehabilitated back to the wild. Pets that have been mistreated or just unwanted are all examined by the Vet and nursed back to health, before being neutered. Dogs are micro chipped and all animals will be found new homes. If the new adoptee no longer wants their pet or we are unhappy of the treatment the animal is having we can collect the animal as agreed in the contract. Littleborough deals with horses, donkeys, feral cats, pet pigs, sheep, goats, battery and pet chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks, pet birds of all types, chinchillas, chipmunks, owls, reptiles and wildlife. Some go to new homes or back to the wild. Some stay at the Sanctuary to live out their days. We also deal with retired and badly treated equines. The equines fear can cause them to be unpredictable with humans. A great deal of ongoing body language with the equines at the sanctuary is carried out which is very successful.

Red Endangered Animal Connection Trust (UK, 1136449) Browse events

YTD Raised: £745.00

The Red Endangered Animal Connection Trust (REACT) is a charity dedicated to connecting people with endangered animal conservation projects through volunteering and education. We are involved in the conservation of large, iconic endangered animals and habitats, such as orangutans, bears, elephants and tropical rainforests. By protecting these flagship species and habitats, we can ensure the sustainable protection of large ecosystems across the world. When you donate to REACT, we’ll ensure that 80% (100% if you are a UK taxpayer and pay Gift Aid) of your money goes directly to the project. Our overheads are kept low so your money goes to help the endangered animals. We’ll also report back to you on how your donation has contributed. We are transparent and accountable so you know exactly how your money was spent, be it a hammock for a large male orangutan, a release programme for a sun bear, or a hectare of forest to provide a green corridor for a pygmy elephant. For more information on REACT, our project sites and appeals please visit our website, www.reactproject.org

We pride ourselves on our NO-KILL policy, which means that the animals in our care stay with us for as long as it takes to find them their forever homes. We are dedicated to animal welfare and committed to being actively involved with local schools and community groups to encourage and inform, often through mutual visits, which can lead to firm friendship and support on lots of different levels from volunteering to fundraising to sponsorship and beyond. Our funding comes solely from public donations and we hold weekly bric-a-brac sales to maintain our high standard of care and quality. Donations for these sales and for our Ebay shop, are always welcome. We also have an excellent weekend cafe, where families can enjoy a full meal or just a snack and both provide a pleasant environment to pass the time of day in. We also hold a lot of events on site to boost our funds: check out the news and events page for information. Periodically, you will find some of us in a city centre near you having a collection, so please come up and say hello. Thornberry offers support, compassion and understanding and will continue to do so, for while there are animals in need, Thornberrys' gates will always be open for them.
