Australian Wildlife Trust (UK, 1126703) Browse events

YTD Raised: £4,834.18

Australian Wildlife Trust is a UK based non-profit organisation established in 2008 to raise awareness and supporters.  Our aim is to ensure effective conservation measures continue across Australia protecting its unique wildlife and their habitats.  Working in collaboration with organisations, like Australian Wildlife Conservancy, who implement innovative conservation practises and are preventing further extinctions.  Australia is one of the most important nations on Earth for biodiversity - 87% of our mammal species, 93% of reptiles, 94% of frogs and 45% of our bird species are found only in Australia. This unique display of nature sprawled across an ancient land make it a majestic backyard well worth protecting. However, Australia has the worst wildlife extinction record in the world. More than 1,700 species of animals and plants are listed by the Australian Government as being at risk of extinction. Nearly 1 in 4 of our mammal species and around 1 in 7 of our bird species are listed as threatened and that number will increase dramatically unless significant change to conservation methods occur now.   We need your help: please donate,  run the race,  ride like the wind or climb that mountain! Your support of Australian Wildlife Trust will help save Australia's threatened species. We are registered charity no: 1126703 and all donations to AWT are tax deductible in the United Kingdom.

The Busoga Trust. (UK, 288388) Browse events

YTD Raised: £4,196.45

The Busoga Trust is a UK based water, sanitation & hygiene charity. Working mainly in Uganda we have constructed over 2000 safe water sources since 1982 (providing clean, safe drinking water to an estimated 1,000,000+ people) along with providing improved sanitation facilities and hygiene/health education. After air, nothing is so important to the survival of life on Earth as water. Diarrhoeal disease, caused through unsafe water and poor sanitation, is the second largest cause of death amongst children under-5 globally. Furthermore, where it doesnt kill, it severely hampers economic development through lost time in school and employment. In Uganda, according to the WHO, only 64% of the rural population have access to safe water. When you think that 87% of the population lives in rural areas, this means that vast numbers of people are in daily contact with deadly and debilitating diseases. As a service provider, we actually do the work on the ground. We are not a middleman. Therefore donors can rest assured that the money they donate is actually going towards the cost of providing valuable, sustainable health interventions. We may be small, but we work hard to make the most of what resources we have. Your support will make a real difference to rural Uganda. TreeSisters is a global woman’s campaign to help reforest the tropics within 10 years. We are an eco-crowd-funding campaign powered by the generosity, creativity, originality and shared responsibility of women who want to offer their gifts and abilitues towards the cause. We are actively serving the creation of a sustainable world for our children and providing a network of mutual support for all women wishing to face up to climate change. TreeSisters is where feminine empowerment and ecological restoration come together as one unified mission. Our plan is to help make it normal for everyone to give money for trees every month, to help reforest the tropics - and, it is so much more. This is as much about the empowerment of women as it is about reforestation.   TreeSisters is an invitation to pitch your energies towards the creation of a world that values both women and nature as a new norm.   Our two primary areas of work are:  1. to engage and empower diverse women to join,      spread and amplify the movement with their own creativity,  experience and courage 2. to co-create a meta-reforestation strategy with  existing tree organisations to lay out a plan for how to help  reforest the tropics within 10 years We are right at the beginning. Our campaign updates, will tell you where we are with it all! There are so many ways to get involved right now Please join us in spreading the word and bringing this initiative to life. Thank you.
