(UK, 1122270) Browse eventsTravel Philanthropy has been established to increase the volume and efficiency of charitable giving by travellers, pre or post departure, to worthwhile charitable causes. It has wide charitable objectives and will facilitate donations to a range of projects and initiatives that ‘match’ destination requirements including poverty reduction, education, health, conservation and environment projects. Travel Philanthropy currently trades with two consumer identities: 1. Carbon Philanthropy; provides a non-profit alternative to carbon offsetting, providing you with a choice of initiatives which address the causes of climate change or assist communities to adapt to climate change, change caused in part by our travel. Each of the Carbon Philanthropy initiatives presented by Travel Philanthropy has been screened by an independent panel of experts. 2. Travaid; provides travel industry partners with a range of opportunities suitable for destination specific giving to promote to their consumers. Each cause presented by Travel Philanthropy has been screened by an independent panel of experts.

(UK, 1145389) Browse eventsThank you for visiting our Twyford Heritage Virgin money giving page. We aim to preserve, protect and improve the natural and physical environment in and around the village of Twyford, Hampshire by helping on projects which provide facilities used by the village. Our current project involves working with Twyford Parish Council to preserve Berry Meadow, the ancient 17 acre watermeadow in the Twyford Itchen Valley, north of Shawford Road, which joins the end of Berry Lane and the Meads land already owned by the Council. The Parish Council has an opportunity to purchase the meadow from a consortium of local families, who purchased the field in 2009 to protect it from potential development and to ensure continued use by the village. The consortium bought the meadow as a stopgap to allow the Parish Council time to raise funds for the purchase and is offering the meadow to the Council at cost. The Parish Council plans to continue the recent work undertaken by the consortium to improve the fencing, restore the biodiversity of the grass sward and maintain the increased public access to the meadow. The Parish Council has raised £75,000 from grants and other fundraising activities and is now appealing for public donations totalling £30,000 to complete the purchase. Any donations received above this level will be spent on the meadow to fund further nature conservation projects and on public access improvements. Twyford Heritage is supporting this fundraising appeal. Donations made through Virgin Money Giving are secure and will benefit from automatic Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer. Your donation will go a long way towards securing this valuable meadow for the long term benefit of the village and local community.
