Friends of Wimbish School (FOWS) are parents, friends and family of children who attend Wimbish Primary, but also people within the community who are passionate about their local school and who feel that they can make a positive difference. Wimbish Primary School provides education from Reception to Year 6 for the children of the Village and surrounding areas , which includes nearby Carver Barracks which accounts for 75% of our pupils.Due to its small size (currently 54 pupils) and the transient nature of Service family life, the School faces many challenges not associated with the majority of small, rural Primary Schools, but the dedicated Head Teacher and Staff ensure that the experience of their children is incredibly positive and rewarding, borne out by their latest Ofsted report. FOWS strive to raise the funds for equipment and extra-curricular activities that further enhances the positive School experience of our pupils. Charity No: 1055520
Norton St Philip School PTFA raises funds to support and enrich the life of the school. Our school is a small rural first school set in the rolling hills of Somerset. We, the PTFA, are dedicated to raising money to support and enrich the life of the school. One of our current priorities is the purchase of more resources for our Forest School. This will provide the school (and the wider community) with an even better outdoor learning space. We are fortunate to already have wonderful willow structures, a seating area, a fire pit and planting areas. Now we need somewhere to provide a little shelter on colder days, additional learning resources and storage for our outdoor equipment. The Pekbeken Ali Foundation was set up to help poor and disadvantaged children and families in bangladesh. We assist with access to clean drinking water, blankets, housing and education. We also have a policy of helping individuals sustain their families through access to decent education and by provision of means to earn a regular income. Bangladesh currently suffers from a high level of illiteracy with around half of the population being able to read and write. In remote or rural areas, access to basic primary school education is scarce and even when this is available; most children have to suffer inadequate shelters in which schooling takes place. PAF looks to create schools where there is a requirement and to replace buildings made of tin which fail to provide a place conducive to a great studying environment. We look to achieve this goal by raising money to build schools through projects such as 3 Peaks and Mount Kilimanjaro Challenges where our team members fund the trips personally and donate 100% of the money they have raised to the charity. In 2012 PAF managed to raise over £2,500 when a team of seven climbers completed the 3 Peaks Challenge. This money has part funded the building of a school in the village of Nazirow gow in Sylhet region, Bangladesh . The school is currently under construction with the foundation stone laid on 14th January 2013 during a ceremony attended by a local MP (name). The current tin structure is being replaced by a brick building and will house up to 120 school children with a total of 8 teachers providing morning and afternoon classroom shifts in a secure and safe environment. All classrooms will be kitted out with desks and chairs and the school will potentially hold a small library. As well as providing clean, hygienic and well-constructed classrooms, we aim to ensure clean drinking water and sanitation facilities are available at the school, in order to help improve the health of the children. The school is due to be completed and officially opened on the 29th March 2013 by the founder Mohammed Ali. Living conditions in the community of Dominase (in the far north of the Central Region of Ghana) are fairly primitive and unhealthy. There is no running water and only a few wells from which people have to carry all their daily needs. The local river, often used for washing, is very dirty and can cause chronic disease and death. Very few people have anywhere to go to the toilet - contributing to the unhealthy conditions. People in Dominase, particularly young children, often die due to diseases caused by poor sanitation. Schools lack many of the basic things that we take for granted. The Buriton Village to Village Group works in partnership with community leaders in Dominase to improve everyday lives by helping with education, clean water, sanitation and health care. Initially we helped provide a health clinic with a generator, medical supplies and funding for living quarters for a nurse. Links with schools were also amongst our early achievements. We have subsequently helped to improve supplies of clean drinking water by raising thousands of pounds from fund-raising initiatives. Our latest initiative, launched in 2012, will help with education at about twenty schools in and around Dominase. Supplementary reading books can make a big difference to children’s opportunities to learn English at an early age – which opens the door to all subsequent learning of other subjects; and to a route out of poverty. Miss out on English in their early years of education, and the children miss out on life-chance opportunities thereafter – as generations of villagers have done in the past. Every £2 that we raise can provide a new book for our School Library initiative. There are few books in schools at present, but there is a willingness in all of the local schools to develop a Library facility – even if the library is in a box! We are also helping to improve sanitation through our special Buy-a-Bog campaign - providing individual households with their first family toilets, ever. Every £30 raised buys the materials for a basic family loo and we have trained local masons to do all the construction required. We are also providing blocks of toilets at schools - with hand-washing facilities from rainwater harvesting. Children, particularly girls, are now attending school more consistently as they know that they have some privacy when needed. We hope that you may be willing to help in some way - no matter how small.

Telferscot PSA is a registered charity working in partnership with Telferscot Primary School in Balham, London. The Parent Staff Association (PSA) aims to provide financial support to the school to support the children's learning and playing environments and experiences. We try to make sure that every child, regardless of their financial circumstances, gets to enjoy the diverse learning experiences that our school has to offer. From Bikes for Juniors, where children can learn to ride a bicycle at school, to spending a day-long history lesson dressed as Victorian school children at the Ragged School Museum. In addition to funding plays, trips, excursions and sports equipment, in the past few years we have also focused on funding a 'Forest Schools' outdoor classroom and a dedicated sports coach for the school. Our key objective this year is to provide funding for the school to buy and install new playgound equipment following recent building works and the future school expansion. Your donations help us to continue our work. Thank you!
