Palmerston School is a community special school for pupils with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties some of whom show challenging behaviour. The school aims to provide pupils within the school community the opportunity to adopt practices for a healthy and safe lifestyle.
Friends of St Marys (FOSM) was established many years ago, primarily as a fund raising organisation and is now a registered charity (Charity no 1115799). The Friends of St Mary’s aim to raise funds for school, in order to enhance the education of our children. It is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school within the local community. All parents and members of the community can get involved and all parents are automatically members of the association when they join our school.
Friends of Freemantles is a charity set up and run by the parents and friends of children who attend Freemantles School - An Autistic School for children aged 5-13 years. It helps provide equipment and supports running costs of the extra mini-buses essential for school outings, by way of fundraising events throughout the year. The charity has to date provided the school with a swimming pool, a new mini-bus, a therapy room and also helps to maintain the school Caravans in Pagham.
The Ridgeway Community School is a Local Authority maintained special school for children 2 - 19 years of age who have severe and/or profound multiple learning difficulties. The school is spread over three sites, the main site on Frensham Road, our Nursery at Pilgrim’s Way School, and our Further Education Unit which is sited at Farnham College. We provide a personalised education for our 100 pupils and, by fundraising, we aim to provide new facilities, minibuses and equipment to improve and support teaching and learning and enhance the lives and experiences of our young people with learning difficulties. We particularly support each child to develop an effective means of communication. Access to resources can open up a whole new world, hopefully becoming the start of a lifetime of simple, but effective communication, something many of us take for granted.
The charity supports Hadrian School which caters for up to 125 primary aged children in Newcastle Upon Tyne who have severe, profound and complex learning, sensory and communication difficulties.
Friends of Leafield School is a charity run by parents of children who attend Leafield CE Primary School. Its objectives are to raise funds in a fun, family orientated environment, therefore helping to advance the education of the pupils by helping to provide the school with activities and equipment that perhaps the school cannot fund themselves. We are extremely fortunate this year as Stephen Ratcliff - a parent and supporter of Leafield School, is running the London Marathon in aid of funds for Friends of Leafield School. The Family and Friends of Sandgate School is a small group of parents and friends who help to raise money for all the children with special needs that attend the school. All the money that is raised goes towards providing equipment that makes the children’s time at the school more enjoyable.

Kids in Kathmandu Nepal (KIKN) charity has been set up to provide help and support to orphans and disadvantaged children and young people, mainly living in and around the Kalimati area in Kathmandu. The Charity’s income comes from the sponsors of individual children, from fund raising events, from grants for specific projects, and one-off and regular donations from its supporters. TVS works with impoverished rural schools in South Africa to provide educational opportunities for children, many of whom are orphaned by HIV/AIDS. It provides resources and teacher to teacher exchanges and runs activities and annual camps for primary and secondary school children.
The CPS Orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal cares for 20 children aged between 6 and 17. It is run along the lines of a big family and managed by a Nepali couple, whom the children call uncle and auntie. CPS aims to provide the children with a warm and loving environment, a good education and the necessary support when they move onto adult life. CPS is totally reliant on donations and 100% of all funds given are used to cover rental costs, living and running expenses and school and college fees.
