YTD Raised: £2,049.60Birkett House is a special needs school. All the pupils have a statement of educational needs but with a wide variation in learning difficulties or physical disabilities. We provide non curriculum items for the school and help the pupils access items and occassions that they would normally either not be able or lack the confidence to do. This confidence can be extended to the parents to give the children more opportunities to try new things but in the safety of the school environment. We have provided a multi sensory suite and soft play room, a sensory garden, sound and light systems in the swimming pool area and updated the sound and light controllers in the MSI room. We have donated several games consoles and also wide screen TVs for the residence part of the school. We have just had our first school disco and party on a Saturday evening which was well attended by our pupils and their siblings and friends. We are presently fundraising for a sensory playground to be fitted later this year.

YTD Raised: £2,047.00The Friends of Bettridge (F.O.B) was established in 1975 to advance the education of the children attending Bettridge Special school, by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school, not normally provided by the Local Authority. F.O.B is the Bettridge School Parent Teachers Association made up of staff and parents/carers The Association aims to foster more extended relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school and engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of the children attending it. Every half term the F.O.B. Committee attends a meeting to work together to organise social and recreational events for parents, children and staff and has provided numerous items of equipment and financial help with major purchases.

The School has 12 classes covering each stage of the curriculum from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 4 and Post 16. All of the pupils have a range of complex needs, including ASD (autism spectrum disorder), PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties), SLD (specific learning disabilities) and many also have physical and sensory disabilities. Approximately twenty per cent of pupils use wheelchairs.

YTD Raised: £1,917.50Broughton Primary is a city centre school with a wide catchment area and a rich mix of cultures and faiths, committed to bringing the best to each of our children. Broughton Primary School Trust was set up to support the Parent Staff Association (PSA) to make the most of fundraising opportunities which benefit the children, staff and parents who make the school a vital and much loved part of the local community. Throughout the year we run events to raise money for Broughton and to date we've funded Gaelic football, iPads for digital learning, scooterpods, the Christmas pantomime and loose play parts for outdoor fun and learning. Our wider aim is to raise £25,000 to make much needed improvements to the playground. Being in the heart of a busy, and developing community brings with it challenges as the school roll grows, and new classrooms have been built in the playground to accommodate the additional local children attending Broughton. So, it's important that the space the children have access to for playing, relaxing and learning is the best it can be. Children, staff and parents are working together to bring to life an ambitious and much needed vision for a better environment for the children who attend the school, and live in the local area. Staffed primarily by volunteers from the local community, supported by therapists from the local authority, PWPG has been judged Outstanding in all Areas by Ofsted. On going training and qualifications enable the group to provide a safe and stimulating environment for each child and meet their individual needs, then support the families at the transition to school. No fees are charged, so the group has to raise funds to provide basic commodities and specialist equipment to maximise each childs ability to achieve their potential.
