YTD Raised: £0.00

We are a charity run village pre-school for children aged 2-5 Banwell Buddies are looking to expand our current setting to include a separate room for two year olds. To do this we need to raise approximately £5000 to purchase a suitable structure and complete the necessary ground works. We are lucky to have a hard-working fundraising team who are striving towards this goal, but we are still a long way off! We are looking for donations of not only money, but also a suitable unit. If we were to be lucky enough to be given a unit that would be fit for purpose, the money we have raised will be used to improve the facilities even further. YTD Raised: £0.00

OVALHOUSE Theatre was first performed at Ovalhouse 50 years ago in 1963. During those 50 years it has built and maintained a reputation for innovative, provocative work. Consistently outside of the mainstream, Ovalhouse has used theatre to ask searching questions of society, to encourage diversity, and as a catalyst to transform thousands of lives.  SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE Creative Youth, our participation department, reaches out to young people from the surrounding communities, manyof whom are at very margins of society. We work with young people who would otherwise have no access to the arts; no opportunity to engage their creativity, to increase their confidence nor to find something worthwhile on which to focus their energies. At Ovalhouse young people have the chance to explore their potential and develop valuable creative, personal and vocational skills. SUPPORTING THEATRE Our Theatre Department works to support over 500 early career artists each year, helping them to engage audiences and inspire thinking; nurturing young and new talent to create exciting, radical, pioneering fringe theatre.  Ovalhouse can only accomplish this with the financial support and generosity of organisations, individuals and businesses who understand what we can achieve together. The young people we work with need your support. Support the future of theatre in London. Support Ovalhouse towards the next 50 years!

Kidz R Us Community Project (UK, 1071443) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Kidz R Us is a registered charity providing opportunities in the performing arts for young people, aged 7 – 20 in West Cornwall.  It was founded in 1994 and is now based in its own 320 seat theatre (a partly-converted Wesleyan chapel) in St Ives in Cornwall.  Kidz R Us have a well deserved reputation for producing work of the highest standards and as well as performing in their own theatre they have performed in the West End at the London Palladium, Royal Albert Hall and the Criterion Theatre as well as at the world renowned Minack Theatre in Cornwall.  Increasing numbers of graduates from Kidz R Us are now entering professional training for music and drama.  Kidz R Us currently produces at least three large-scale shows a year, and a small number of concerts. These involve over 100 young people (including a healthy proportion of boys) in singing, dance and drama. There are a large number of young people who are on the company’s waiting list.  Over the last seven years Kidz R Us has paid off the money borrowed to purchase the St Ives Theatre and is now operating as a debt free organisation.  Young people come to Kidz R Us from all over West Cornwall and from Truro to St Just.  Cornwall is one of the poorest areas in Great Britain (as recognised by Europe with Convergence Status) and eight out of the ten poorest wards in Cornwall are in West Cornwall.  The young people who attend Kidz R Us are broadly representative of the socio-economic make-up of the area.  Kidz R Us is run mainly by over 100 volunteers under the artistic directorship of Phil Barnett and with the support of a General Manager.  Having just completed 20 highly successful years Kidz R Us has paid off the mortgage on the Theatre (using mainly earned income) and are now seeking to move into a new, more sustainable era.  The success of Kidz R Us has meant that it has outgrown its current structures and is now looking to further support the work of its talented and dedicated members and volunteers with paid staff.

Angels Charity (UK, 1144121) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Angels Charity was set up to make a difference for some of the worlds poorset children. We wanted to find ways to help them in a practical sense, but more than that, we wanted to give them hope, to help them realise that maybe there could be a different life for them beyond the slums. The reality of children living in extreme poverty and on the streets poses great challenges. Angels has developed initiatives that provide a lifeline, help to restoreself-esteem, provide hope and make the transition back into society and school life easier. A simple fun musical educational and feeding programme focuses on the children's traditional musical culture whilst at the same time teaches phonics through song lyrics both in their native language and in English. After these fun sessions we feed the children and, through our '3 Bags Full' programme provide them with better clothes, the basics for keeping clean and much needed rudimentary educational equipment for school life. Together, these simple initiatives can have a profound and lasting impact on the lives.
