YTD Raised: £0.00

London Transport Museum is a heritage preservation and educational charity. We rely on the active support of business partners, individuals and grant-giving bodies to carry out our day-to-day activities, exhibitions and education programmes. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we restored Metropolitan steam locomotive No.1 into working condition to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the London Underground. In January, the loco recreated the first ever underground passenger journey on the original stretch of the Metropolitan Line as part of the celebrations. Projects like the ‘Return of Steam to the London Underground’ could not have happened without the support of our donors. Your donation – large or small – will help us to: Thank you for helping us keep heritage on the move.

Mary's (UK, 1127269) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Mary's An independent charity created by St Mary Islington to serve the local community   We run a Youth Club, Pre-school and Holiday Play Schemes  as well as providing a welcoming meeting space service for local community groups and other organisations. We are based in Crypt and Neighbourhood Centre at St Mary's Church on Upper Street in Islington. All of these services are self-funding apart from our Youth Club, where we have relied on funds generated by our hire of meeting rooms in combination with a grant from Islington Council.  However, this grant will soon come to an end. In order to be able to continue with our youth work, we urgently need donations. With the help of your donations we can continue with our Youth Club’s valuable work. As an example, £220 would fund a dance or drama session for  a month for young people to develop their creativity – or a non-contact boxing session to develop resilience and confidence. £250  would fund a CV carrier planning and employability workshop for a month £550 would fund a driving theory course including tests for 12 which proved so popular earlier this year £2000 would fund a co-producer for 4 months’ work experience

New Diorama (UK, 278795) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

New Diorama is an 80-seat studio theatre with the ambition to be the only London theatre to specialise in supporting the work of Theatre Companies and Groups. Presenting high quality theatre productions all year round is key to our charitable aims. Since April 2010 when we opened, we've received excellent reviews and audiences for our performance programme. Our database tells us that just under half of our audiences come from less than a mile away, which means we’re beginning to become a local theatre with an increasing number of repeat visitors. Our mission has always been to make NDT a flexible building that has time and space for all members of our local and artistic community. NDT has grown as a cultural hub of the West Euston Area, clearly evidenced by the number of high profile local events that have been hosted here. Financial support has meant that we are able to accommodate all space requests at a small or no cost to the community and events and performances have been subsidised to enable us to cater to smaller local audiences. To ensure that we maintain a broad theatre programme that reflects the diversity of our local community and wider borough, every season we make sure there are several shows and events targeted especially at groups in our community who may be under catered for or wouldn’t normally come to the theatre. As part of our commitment to exceed our Section 106 commitments, we pro-actively create events to involve our local residents in creative projects. This year has seen a varied number of NDT led projects that have involved residents and workers from West Euston of all backgrounds and ages. We rely on the generous donations and funding from people and organisations to allow us to continue in our mission of providing a platform for Theatre Companies and Groups, and offering a creative home for our local community.
