The Aim of the Charity The aim of the Charter 600 Charity is to give grants primarily to small, community based organisations, where a small amount of money will make a big difference. Giving Life Opportunities to Women (Glow) is a women's charity that runs out of City Life Centre - based in West Belfast. Glow wants to enable women to live full lives by discovering their value and purpose; to equip them to be influential within their family and community. Glow launched in 2008 as an idea from a group of women who shared the same vision to see women in our community discover their value, confidence, and self esteem. We started with personal development programmes and in 2011 registered with the charity commission. As of 2016 Glow has had over 300 women come through our programmes and discover value, skills, and confidence. We believe in holistic support for women, and so we offer a range of programmes that support different needs: personal development, health and nutrition, OCN job skills & employability, OCN mentoring, girl's personal development, and an arts/craft drop in. We believe women can not only take hold of their life's direction, but influence their family and peers within the community to do the same.
