Syringe Drivers can help patients remain comfortable at home by administering a steady flow of pain relief and other medication over a 12 or 24 hour period. Some patients require more then one machine as certain drugs cannot be mixed.Syringe Drivers cost over £1100 each. Whittlesey, Thorney, Eye and Stanground only had 2 devices to share between all the residents. We are gradually increasing these numbers as well as trying to helping other areas covered by the Cambridgeshire Peterborough Foundation Trust increase their numbers as most of our surrounding towns and villages only have 1 or 2 available to cover a large population. In fact participating in the event is quite simple – all you have to pay is an entry fee and ask family and friends to sponsor you to run the two thirds of a mile from Master Park to The Bell in Old Oxted High Street, however……you do need to push a pram in fancy dress and stop at each of the seven licensed premises on the way, where you have to down a drink as fast as you can! Meeting the Needs of People with Disabilities Elizabeth House Social Centre was set up to provide a welcoming environment for people with disabilities. We primarily provide social and educational sessions for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues. Our main groups are: BlueSkies: Social and educational sessions for people with Learning Disabilities.  Sessions are held on Mondays and Wednesdays and give our members the chance to take part in a range of activities including dancing, drama, artwork and computers. Adventurers/Explorers: These are sessions for young people with learning disabilities.  They take part in similar activities with a higher emphasis on physical activities.  Sessions for the children take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school holidays, and on Saturdays during school terms. Elizabeth House works in collaboration with Barnardos to provide this service. Kingfishers: Prim, we provide courses on Creative Writing, Drama and Computing on Tuesday and Friday. Open Sessions: These sessions are open to all members of the club and take place on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings.  Members enjoy socialising, playing cards and pool and take part in Bingo, Skittles and other organised activities.  Visits to cinema, theatre and local pubs take place on a regular basis.
