Our Scout Group consists of four thriving and expanding sections, Beavers, Cubs, Sea Scouts and Land Scouts. We have over 80 young people of both boys and girls and 1st Corringham Scout Group offer them "ALL" adventure, challenge, fun and excitement. We are currently raising funds to replace our dilapidated and outdated Group headquarters - Tindall Lodge, Herd Lane. Planning permission has been granted for a building to be constructed on the existing site. The new building will allow local young people to continue their scouting experience and personal development and will also be available for the local community to use. It helps to promote equal opportunities for people with Down syndrome and offer support to them and their families. It promotes public awareness of Down syndrome and encourages and helps local support groups. It provides information through conferences, workshops, newsletters and its website.
Mission statement To lessen the harm caused by benzodiazepines (tranquilisers), 'z' drug sleeping pills, and new and emerging drugs with similar effects. Our Aims: - To help those who are addicted to benzodiazepines, tranquillisers and sleeping pills, and drugs with similar effects, and who wish to withdraw from them, to do so as comfortably as possible, and to help them to make the changes necessary in life after withdrawal. - To educate and inform all those who may come across the problem of these addictions, either personally or professionally, towards an understanding of the difficulties caused by the drugs' action and the compounding of these difficulties in withdrawal. - To influence services in their prescribing, managing and supporting of clients who take/want to withdraw from benzodiazepines and similar drugs.

Northumbrian Hedgehog Rescue Trust is a small charity for the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured or orphaned hedgehogs. Based in Longframlington, near Morpeth in Northumberland, wetake in hedgehog casualties from Northumberland in the north to Durham in the south. We are a small national charity providing emotional support to those who are vulnerable, isolated, at risk & victims of abuse,specialising in helping adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The charity helps to empower and encourage callers to improve self esteem and an inner feeling of strength.
'It's Only Me' Befriending Service is for people who may be experiencing isolation and loneliness or a limited social life. Our Community Connection Volunteer Befrienders make a huge impact on older people by visiting them in their home for company and conversation. This Christmas Lunch will be for our Volunteers and their friend to come along to and have a lovely Christmas meal, company and fun. It will make a huge difference particularly to those who will be spending Christmas day on their own. We will also have a school choir to sing Christmas songs and hopefully a small gift.
Singing Gorilla Projects runs a music school, installs water tanks, sponsors children to continue their schooling and has developed a health clinic to improve the welfare of communities and enrich the lives of individuals.
We provide recreational and leisure activities for adults with a learning disability. We hold weekly club-nights where the members enjoy socialising and playing pool, darts, bingo, plus discos, crafts, and competitions. We organise outings throughout the year. The club is run entirely by volunteers.
