EDP is a small UK based charity which offers FEE FREE senior secondary education at the Awutu-Winton Senior High School  to disadvantaged but academically able youngsters in Awutu, 50 miles west of Accra in Ghana. EDP believes that education is the only route out of poverty and despair, and it is the gift no child in our world should be denied!   In Ghana only 45% of the population attends senior secondary school – costing close to 35% of the average per capita GDP,  it is way beyond the financial reach of the majority. Therefore, EDP Directors David and Inez Lunan joined with founder Peter Donkor (a Ghanaian teacher formerly at Winton School in Andover) to address the educational needs of youth in the Awutu area by building the Awutu-Winton Senior High School. Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.Breast Friends and Family aims to support breast cancer patients, initially at St John’s Hospital in Livingston, through diagnosis, treatment and recovery; to provide the little things that will make a difference to each individual and how they feel about themselves.We also aim to help patients and their family members deal with the challenges a cancer diagnosis brings.  Breast Friends and Family has been setup by Hazel, her sister Mandy, mother Sylvia and daughter Holly. Hazel was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2015 which shocked the family but the challenges this diagnosis brought were faced with a steely determination to keep life going as normal and provide Hazel with the support she needed through treatment and recovery.The family realised that patients are supported by a number of cancer charities, each one giving additional support that patients are not even aware that they need. They began fund raising, by dancing, running, walking, knitting, sewing and organising events in support of many cancer charities.Hazel was given lots of support from a local charity based at St John’s Hospital in Livingston and as she recovered she wanted to help and support this local charity so that others like her, having a breast cancer diagnosis, were helped in the way that she was. Sadly this charity is no longer running.Hazel and her family and friends are now determined to make sure that all patients being diagnosed with cancer in St John’s are given the kind of help they don’t even realise they need.  Charity No: SC048332
