Rape Crisis (England and Wales) is a registered charity and the national umbrella organisation for Rape Crisis Centres across the country. We support the work of local centres and aim to develop new centres in areas where there are no or few specialist services. Rape Crisis (England and Wales) campaign continuously to raise awareness of the prevalence of sexual violence and, in particular, we highlight the importance and need for appropriate, high-quality and specialised support. Through our campaigns and briefings we raise awareness of sexual violence, challenge attitudes and press for change. Rape Crisis Centres provide crucial crisis and long term specialised counselling, support and independent advocacy for all women and girls of all ages who have experienced any form of sexual violence both recently and/or in the past; centres are community based, and independent of government and the criminal justice system. As well as offering services to keep people active and give respite to carers, Dementia Forward also provides home visits, wellbeing activities, social events and education programmes. The charity's work covers Ripon and Harrogate District, which includes Ripon, Harrogate, Knaresborough, Nidderdale, Boroughbridge and Wetherby. Around 3,000 people have been diagnosed with dementia in Ripon and Harrogate District. Every penny stays local.
