East Side Youth Centre has been situated on Hatters Lane, High Wycombe, since 1965. It provides support for the young people of East Wycombe. It is a place that encourages, inspires and supports personal development, we raise awareness of young people's rights and responsibilities not only to themselves but to the wider community. We offer a meeting place for other charities who use the centre when the youth club is not meeting. These include Bucks Young Carers and Wycombe Youth Action. East Side Youth club is currently open on a Wednesday and Friday evening term time, with plans for an additional evening on a Monday for younger children. In 2020 we face a financial short fall of five thousand pounds as County Council funding stopped in 2012 leaving funds to run the centre for 5 years. The funds have been well managed and with other grants 7 years on, we need to raise funds to ensure we can keep the doors open.

"Friends of Nixon" exists to support the work of the Nixon Memorial Hospital, Segbwema, a small rural Methodist mission hospital in Eastern Sierra Leone that serves an estimated 30,000 people. The Friends of Nixon was established to provide a direct route of support for the Nixon Memorial Hospital in Sierra Leone. The hospital is in an area of endemic poverty in one of the most deprived countries in the world. It faced partial destruction and temporary closure during the Sierra Leone civil war between 1991 and 2002 and recently encountered further tragedy during the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. Despite these challenges the hospital continues to survive in order to provide essential healthcare to its community who have huge unmet health needs. Our trustees consist of a group of individuals from both Sierra Leone and the UK (many ofwhom have worked at the hospital) who have a desire to support the work of thehospital and facilitate improvements in the healthcare it provides. We achieve this through funding training opportunities, community health work, infrastructure projects (most recently the new water well and pump) and essential medicine provision.
