HDSSG was set up by parent volunteers in the Huddersfield district of children with Down Syndrome. As a group we aim to provide support to the families, to celebrate our children’s achievements, champion their views and aspirations and also provide social, sporting and learning opportunities for the children and their siblings. We use valuable donations from smashing people just like you to fund fun things like activities and outings but also the serious stuff like resources and speech & language therapy. A donation of £60 lets up to 8 of our families have private use of a hydrotherapy swimming pool for an hour. It costs £500 for 14 of our children to access 'Chatterbox' - our speech and language therapy programme with our qualified therapist, Louise Usher, once a month. £4 helps us put together a 'New Parent' pack. These are distributed to local hospitals to be given to new parents of babies with Down Syndrome congratulating them on their new arrival, and letting them know we are here when they need us. To find out more about us why not browse our website? www.hdssg.org Thank you for your support!

Samaritans provides confidential emotional support 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide. We don't make judgements, and we don't offer advice. The York branch was founded in 1967 and is one of 202 branches nationwide. We aim to have two telephone lines manned 24 hours and day, 365 days a year, and are open 12 hours a day to visitors. All of this is made possible by over 120 volunteers who take 1400 calls and respond to 500 emails and texts a month. This dedication is supported by generous public donations which are our sole source of income. Your support in helping us keep open is greatly appreciated.

Everything we do at Olly’s Future is in memory of Olly. We’re a bunch of friends, who have come together like a family. By sharing Olly’s love and light we can help stop our amazing young people losing their lives to suicide. We have three missions: * To advance the education into the causes, effects and prevention of suicide, particularly in young people. * To support other charitable initiatives, programmes and organisations, which work to prevent or raise awareness of suicide. * To celebrate Olly’s life through events, awards and creative endeavours.

The Friends of the Edington is a Scottish Registered Charity (SCO14443) which was set up in 1990 to support the Edington Hospital. The Friends of the Edington support the Edington Hospital by raising funds to provide equipment and amenities for inpatients and those cared for by the Community Nurses, and by fostering a link between the hospital and the local community. Income received by the Friends is by way of voluntary donations from individuals and local organisations. As a result of the generous support received from the local community the Friends are able to provide facilities for the hospital which the NHS is unable to fund. These include the purchase of medical equipment, the provision of therapy and comforts for patients and the funding of specialist training for the nursing staff. The Friends also meet the cost of an Activities Coordinator who arranges activities and treats for patients. As a result of the support which the Friends are able to provide the hospital is one of the best equipped hospitals of its size in Scotland.
