CHIPTA is the Parent Teacher Association for Coombe Hill infant School. Its aim is to assist in the provision of facilities for education at the school by engaging in activities which support the school and promote the education of the pupils. All parents of the school are automatically members of CHIPTA. What this means in practice is that CHIPTA undertake a variety of fund raising activities for the school, which not only raises much needed funds to enrich the school and the education of the children, but promotes a deep feeling of community and a fun environment for both parents and children. Examples are Christmas and Summer Fairs, Adult and Children Disco and Film Nights, Mobile Phone and Cartridge Recycling and many other activities. Projects funded from past money raised include: Adventure Playground upgrade including non slip safety surfaces and paths; Refurbishment of swimming pool changing rooms; Providing recyclable water bottles for every child; Storage sheds; Garden improvements to enrich the childrens' outdoor teaching experience; and Murals for a quiet area in the playground.

Scunthorpe & District Samaritans is the only 24 hour helpline in North Lincolnshire, answering around 20,000 calls every year. Our branch needs to raise fifty pounds every day to stay open.
