Children's Support Fellowship Nepal (CSFN) is a small charity set up by friends to support the education and healthcare of the poorest children in rural Nepal through small scale, high impact projects. Our current project is in the remote mountain village of Dhamilikuwa, hidden within the beautiful and unspoilt wilderness of Lamjung District, Nepal. However, inadequate healthcare and education facilities, and a constant battle against food shortages make life for the villagers far from idyllic. This fundraising project has a simple premise, but the effects could very probably transform the lives of Dhamilikuwa’s children. The village’s Shailaputri School is the only school for miles, educating around 600 children aged between 5 and 18 years from Dhamilikuwa and surrounding areas. The school struggles with very basic and insufficient resources to say the least. With your vital support, and in close partnership with the school principal and village committee, we want to be able to help supply this school with desperately needed textbooks and stationery. In addition, we hope to give the village’s Dalit caste families (the poorest of the poor) school uniforms and home study materials, the cost of which would otherwise prevent their children attending school. Other support provided by CSFN will include hygiene and sanitation education and supplies, and stocking the local health post with basic but essential medicines for the villagers. Providing an education is seen as the most realistic, achievable and sustainable route out of the poverty trap. We believe that every child has a right to an education.

Our supporters sponsor their education from nursery school through to university. Many of the youngsters are orphans and live at a village orphanage that we also support.We help with self-sufficiency programmes, clean water and solar lighting, as well as with capital building projects. We promise that anything that you give will go either to help the children's education at the two Little Angels Primary Schools that we support or at the associated Dreamscheme groups which are part of the partnership.We urgently need funds to improve both the facilities within the classrooms and to add to the infrastructure of the schools. The retreat in Kakamega has been given a local name of the “Koinonia Christian Retreat Centre”. Koinonia is a Greek word that means family, in a sense of wider community and love. We lovingly care for the rejected, abused and abandoned, such as street children and orphans. Our homes provide shelter, food, security, behavioural boundaries and individual attention for those in our care. The objective of the project is to help each child become a productive and valuable member of their society, helping them to achieve a brighter future through education, training and life skills application. “A little effort can make a huge impact” Thank you for being part of what we are doing.
