(UK, 1175955) Browse eventsThe Grace Dear Trust is a mental health charity recently set up after losing our daughter & sister Grace Dear to suicide aged just 27 in February 2017. We started this charity hoping to help save the lives of other young people suffering with mental health issues. Grace had been suffering with depression and anxiety from the age of 11, but hadn’t felt she could reach out to anyone to help her make sense of her feelings. Not knowing why, she suffered in silence for many years. To have met Grace you would never have known she was struggling. Grace was bubbly, caring, full of laughter and a beautiful person. However, she was able to hide her feelings behind a mask and eventually when Grace spoke out, despite the help we were able to give, it wasn’t enough to save her. The purpose of our charity is to raise awareness for young people in secondary schools, giving support to those who need it & preventing others suffering so long in silence. We hope to do this by funding seminars in schools and allowing a guest speaker to help young people understand the importance of mental wellbeing. We would like to fund councillors to visit schools, giving those in need the help they require, promptly and in an environment that isn’t intimidating. We also want to create a local network of professionals that young adults could reach out too. Mental health affects 1 in 4 people and too many of them suffer without the help they need. We want change, letting people know “it’s ok not to be ok”

His family created this organisation as a lasting tribute to Daniel but also in the hope that they can prevent at least one family from suffering a similar experience to theirs. The campaign was originally set up by Matthew, Ben & Sarah (Daniel’s brothers & Cousin), to encourage young people to “Share” any problems that troubled them in the hope of preventing one family enduring a similar experience. Today the IUCSF is ran by Daniels parents, Dean & Shirley Smith with 3 main objectives:

(UK, 1195207) Browse eventsThe foundation was set up after the very tragic loss of our brother Charlie Dallas Lancaster after a long battle with his mental health . He did incredible things for so many people campaigning, volunteering and fundraising for so many incredible charities and I think initially we all thought we must carry on the work that he did. However it has become so very much more than that we have seen such an urgent need for more bespoke mental health care and solutions for people who are simply not being heard . The foundation now fundraises and continues to work with those charities, but also our aim to to provide a platform for people to also get support, encourage people to speak out and be apart of Charlie’s Army and create a better understanding of the stigmas surrounding mental health . We are new to this but my goodness we are passionate our grief and love for Charlie carries us .

Inspired by the hard work and dedication of the nurses and the potential life saving procedures that happen in the Suite it soon became apparent that they needed as much help as possible to make the surroundings comfortable and homely. The Oncology Unit treats 100's of people every day with all types of cancer and it relies heavily on the generous donations and help by the public.Be inspired by them and show your support to a local charity where all proceeds go directly to the Oncology Unit in the Osbourne Building. Our Aim: To help the patients and their supporters who visit the Oncology Unit in the Osborne Building at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) more comfortable. Our Promise: With close consultation with the staff on the ward we will endeavour to help with buying small, non-medical equipment and anything that will help to make the patient's time at the suite a little more comfortable during what can be a very difficult time for the patients and visitors supporting their friends and family. A patients quote"Having spent most of last year between the Osbourne outpatients clinic and the Osbourne day ward I know how much could be done improve the facilities.
