Ride High (UK, 1138260) Browse events

YTD Raised: £19,572.91

Ride High helps some of Milton Keynes most disadvantaged children by teaching them to ride and care for horses. In addition to teaching them equestrian skills we work with the children on a range of social, personal and educational skills that they may not be acquiring through conventional learning channels, for example at school or at home. The children we deal with may be in foster care, depressed to the point of suicide, living in an environment dominated by alcohol, violence or drugs, be caring for parents or siblings or come from very deprived backgrounds. We offer children regular access over months and years believing that providing long term consistent support will help them cope with the challenges of daily life and improve their prospects in life.

Light Project Peterborough (UK, 1159764) Browse events

YTD Raised: £19,423.67

We want people to 'get' the good news of Jesus; so we use creative and novel ideas to reach out to people, on the streets, in pubs, in fact wherever people are. Our reasoning is that good news needs to be understood as good news otherwise it's no news which is bad news! Our main project this Winter is the Winter Night Shelter where we are helping up to 8 homeless guests each night from 12th December until 12th March 2017 with a hot meal, safe bed and breakfast. We are also raising funds to support a Project Worker for 12 months of the year who would work with those who are homeless or who have just moved into accommodation having been homeless thus providing a loving support network at this critical time. THE LITTLE PUSH 4 GOOD (UK, 1206268) Browse events

YTD Raised: £19,379.60

Our vision is for a more active world for better mental health. Decades of science prove that having an activity focus (physical activity, music, art, learning) can both promote mental wellbeing and help people to recover from mental illness. We help people currently struggling with their mental health and supported by NHS teams. Our aim is to help them unlock an activity focus which can be an important part of their recovery alongside the medical and psychological support they are receiving. It is highly likely that as you read this that you, a loved one or a friend is struggling with their mental health. Over 8m people are taking prescription medications for a mental health issue and 1.8m people are being supported by NHS Mental Health teams. This crisis is impacting on millions of families and we aim to change the script by putting activity at the heart of both promoting mental wellbeing and recovering from mental illness. Please donate to help us support thousands of people struggling with their mental health and help create a world where activity is seen as important to mental health as it is to physical health.
