Based at the Royal Geographical Society, British Exploring is the world’s oldest charitable organisation of its kind. We take young people on classic expeditions of a challenging and scientific nature to wilderness parts of the world to develop and promote their self reliance, team work, leadership and a spirit of adventure. British Exploring encourages young people from all sectors of society to apply to become Young Explorers and Young Leaders. We raise funds for three main purposes: personal and leadership development, the Dangoor Next Generation Programme (for disadvantaged young people) and bursaries to enable more young people from all parts of society to join our expeditions. British Exploring provides young people with an experience that is both challenging and educational through truly unique expeditions.
