YTD Raised: £3,487.30

The 104th is an active North Edinburgh Scout group offering Beaver, Cub, and Scout sections. Each of these age related sections provide a wide range of activities. The object of the Scout movement generally is to engage with and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. This remains the core objective of the Group. In addition to its core activity, the Group has also has a lot of community engagement and assists a number of local groups by providing use of our hall and grounds. Formerly known as 4th Leith, we have been in Goldenacre since we formed in 1910, and in our current hall since 1953. In addition to scouting activities, the Group maintains the hall and grounds and makes them available to appropriate local community groups. Given the age of the building, it is necessary to undertake a major upgrading project in order to update the facilities and make them more accessible to a wider range of community users. In order to do this, the Group has now obtained planning permission to add a new accessible toilet and shower facility, along with the addition of new storage facilities and an upgrade to the roofing and building insulation. This is a major undertaking for the Group and a wide range of fund raising events and activities are underway to finance this. The major fund raising initiative which will run for some time is the Buy A Brick campaign. The Group is kindly inviting donors to assist us in the project by Buying A Brick as follows:- Foundation Brick £25 to £50 Bronze Brick £100 Silver Brick £250 Gold Brick £500 Platinum Brick £1000 The names of donors will be recorded on a Roll of Donors which will be displayed in the refurbished building.
