Fund For Action Through Education (UK, 1125401) Browse events

YTD Raised: £3,520.00

It's FATE's 3rd Birthday! Help us to celebrate!   Fund for Action Through Education (FATE) helps underprivileged children in developing countries by providing them access to a good education. By supporting FATE, you can change a child’s life, giving them the opportunity to realise their dreams and break the cycle of poverty. We have a fantastic group of sponsors who each sponsor a particular child, or group of children. In return, they receive regular school reports and letters from the children...and our neverending gratitude! In addition to this, we raise money for other essential school items, such as school uniforms and text books, which is where this site comes in - please support us! £5 will buy a school child a shiny new pair of school shoes. £6 will buy a vital mosquito net to help protect a child from malaria. £10 will buy a set of text books, allowing a child to study at their own pace. £15 will buy a rechargeable light so that homework can continue when it gets dark. £20 will buy a school bag stuffed with essential school stationery. £35 will buy a smart school uniform. £50 will pay a childs school bus fare for a year. Whatever you can afford, you can be assured that we will put it to the best use possible, enabling a child to excel at school and improve their life! 100% of the money we raise goes directly to the children that we support with any administration costs (which we keep to an absolute minimum) being paid for with the gift aid that we claim.

Doncaster YMCA (UK, 250973) Browse events

YTD Raised: £3,514.00

Doncaster YMCA’s vision is to provide places and programmes where all young people can truly belong, contribute and thrive. The focus of our work is our Supported Accommodation for young people in need of support. We recognise that homelessness isnt just about not having a place to live; our clients usually have a range of other issues to contend with too. Each person is assigned to a keyworker, and that relationship enables them to explore their problems and work together on finding solutions. We also have a programme for young people moving into homes in the private rented sector, providing support to landlords and tenants throughout the tenancy.  Our Community Centre enables us to provide a range of social and learning activities for young people, particularly those aged 16-25. We have snooker, pool and darts facilities, and we organise regular and occasional activities for people to meet and learn together.
