Resolve is, every week, helping local residents in their recovery from alcohol and drug misuse through dedicated and tailored groups. These groups are part of our programme of 54 weeks of support, including face-to-face 121s, with the ultimate goal to move those attending to manageable and positive lifestyles for themselves, for their families and for their communities. And they are all free of charge. We have services based in the communities in which we work - Welwyn Garden City, Letchworth and Hatfield. 'This is an insidious, progressive and barbaric illness which will corrupt every aspect of living. Recovery is hard, but the difference is something I can't really put into words, so I'll just hope more people get to see it, and live in it' - a client who attends one of our groups. Through our important ReStart Homeless Services, we also seek to tackle and prevent homelessness, and support people who are street homeless, sleeping rough or at immediate risk We work with people to regain control of their lives, stabilise their issues and move towards a place where they can live healthy, happy and independent lives, contributing to the communities in which they live. Freedom Community Alliance is a Christian charity that provides services to vulnerable and complex needs individuals in North Devon. This involves working with a range of needs including poverty and debt, homelessness, addiction, mental or physical health issues, unemployment and social exclusion. The Day Centre is the first point of contact for most beneficiaries and agencies. On average we help between 60 and 90 people a day. In a year we will help over 1,000 local people with their problems, serve over 10,000 meals and 30,000 cups of tea or coffee. We believe everyone has value and with love and support can be helped to change their lives. So, we aim to provide an holistic approach for all our beneficiaries and recognise that people’s problems are often intertwined and complicated. Our aim is to support them to find solutions that work and help them to regain control of their lives. We provide: Open access day services including meals, clothing, showers, laundry service, TV Lounge and recreation, support and advice, referrals and signposting to other partner agencies, advice and assistance to access housing as well as a supportive social environment. Supported Housing through our own accommodation where we house vulnerable individuals in supported safe houses. Currently we run 5 houses and provide secure homes for 21 people. Addiction treatment through our Therapeutic Community for men where they learn the reasons for their behaviours and choices and through learning and living in community they learn the impact of their choices on themselves and others and are guided to change. Healthy living and fitness advice and help through our fully equipped exercise room and gym supported by a full time professional fitness and healthy living coach. Volunteering and back to work support through our meaningful occupation programmes and social enterprise. We also offer support with computer skills and provide a computer suite with internet access.

Smile Group was co-founded by Natalie and Ruth in 2011 after they both experienced perinatal mental illness and felt passionate about the need for parents to benefit from sustained peer support at a local level. The charity is now strategically managed and co-ordinated on a day-to-day basis by four mums; Natalie, Ruth, Sue and Bronya, who all had very different experiences of Perinatal Mental Illness. Having benefited from the support provided by the group, wanted to make a difference. The charities main aims are to provide support to those suffering or affected by perinatal mental illness and to increase awareness and education of the illness to both the public and health professionals. Groups run every Tuesday in Sandbach (12.30-2.30pm), Wednesday in Congleton (10am-12pm) and Friday in Macclesfield (10am and 12pm). These are all drop in sessions and no referral is needed. We also offer 1:1 support in the family home, which is via a referral process from a health professional.
