There are 19,000 children who die in Africa each day from poverty and disease which is so easily preventable. Over the past 25 years, Abaana has been able to share the love of God in a very practical way with those who need it most. In the past 25 years Abaana has built 17 schools throughout Uganda and currently provides sponsorship for 1,600 children. The aim of Mullabrack and Kilcluney’s short-term mission trip in July 2025 is to visit Abaana’s Schools, New Life Homes and to help with the Street Children. We are a large team of around 30 people and hope to organise summer schemes in the schools, work with street kids, play sports, give lunch and offer medical care and spend time with children who were formerly living rough on the streets and are now being cared for. There are also plans to start a development project to build a toilet block or school kitchen or a nursery school classroom.
