(UK, 1177566) Browse eventsPeriod poverty – not being able to afford sanitary products - is a serious issue that’s affecting women and girls today, in the towns and cities that we live in. And it’s on the increase. Did you know that ...One in ten girls in the UK (10%) have been unable to afford sanitary productsOne in seven girls in the UK (14%) have had to ask to borrow sanitary products from a friend because they can’t afford themMore than one in ten girls in the UK (12%) have had to improvise because they can’t afford sanitary products.**(The findings are based on Opinium Research survey of representative weighted sample of 1,000 girls and young women aged 14-21, carried out online between 22-24 August 2017). We are raising awareness for girls and women that do not have access to safe sanitary protection. Each month they face stigma and discrimination; imagine that happening to you every month every day of your period. Providing affordable and quality sanitary products will have a positive impact on the physical, social, emotional and mental wellbeing of adolescent girls and women.Money raised will go towards obtaining access to safe sanitary protection and delivering education to girls and women, who will then not have to miss up to 5 days of school or work due to menstruation each month. Having access to sanitary protection will increase the educational attainment of adolescent girls living in poverty. The funds you donate will go towards the supply of disposable sanitary pads, mooncups as well as washable & reusable sanitary packs for schools and women’s agencies in the U.K and worldwide. We are already tackling the problem here in the UK by raising awareness, campaigning for policy changes in education, giving girls choice and creating positive change through robust research.Thank you for your support ❤️Team Freedom4Girls UKUK Charity : 1177566 Charity No: 1177566 Find out more Website Please click here to visit our website Facebook https://www.facebook.com/freedom4girls/

(UK, 1103406) Browse eventsThe Kingslea Primary School's annual sponsored ‘Welly Walk’ will take place on Friday 28th May. This year the children will complete as many laps of the school grounds as possible in a given time. We know that one lap of the school grounds is around 500m and traditionally most children complete 10 laps – equating to walking 5km. That’s a huge achievement for small people, especially the smallest Reception kids! Please show your support for (and pride in) the children’s efforts by sponsoring them through this page. Over the years the money collected from the Welly Walk has gone towards our MUGA (Multi Use Games Area), IT Suite, the new KS2 Library, refurbishment of the Reception outside learning areas and resurfacing the KS2 playground. This year’s donations will go towards further enhancing the school outdoor learning environment, which will benefit all children across the school. If you’re eligible then please Gift Aid your donation, which will allow us to receive an extra 25% of donations at no cost to you. Please share this page with all your friends and family who would like to support the children’s efforts. Thank you for your support.
