Groundswell (UK, 1089987) Browse events

YTD Raised: £3,375.20

Groundswell exists to enable homeless people to take more control of their lives, have a greater influence on services and play a fuller role in our community. Our core beliefs are that effectively tackling homelessness benefits the whole community, and utilising the knowledge and experience of people affected by these issues is the only way to tackle them. We develop and deliver innovative projects that put people with lived experience of homelessness at the heart of the solutions – focusing on participation, research and health.Groundswell’s multi award-winning Homeless Health Peer Advocacy service provides one-to-one support for homeless people to attend health appointments. Delivered by formerly homeless volunteers who build trusting relationships with homeless people others find ‘hard to reach’. HHPA reduces use of A&E, missed appointments and hospital admissions; resulting in improved health and NHS savings. We simply couldn’t deliver our work without the very generous support from our community. Your support will enable us to help homeless people to access life-saving healthcare, and to progress their lives beyond homelessness, towards employment. Next year we will expand our work to support the growing numbers of homeless people across England, and support more formerly homeless volunteers to progress. The Wynn Trust (UK, 1207621) Browse events

YTD Raised: £3,368.99

The Wynn Trust, a charitable organisation established to provide assistance and support to boxers who have suffered from brain injuries. Our mission is to raise funds and awareness to help these individuals reclaim their quality of life and receive the necessary support and resources for rehabilitation and recovery. The Wynn Trust is named after our friend Charlie Wynn, a former boxer who tragically suffered a severe brain injury while sparring in preparation for a fight. Despite enduring numerous medical treatments and therapies over the past six years, Charlie is still unable to walk and requires extensive support for daily living activities. It is our goal to not only aid Charlie on his journey to recovery but to also extend our assistance to numerous others who are in similar situations. The funding available from the government for individuals with brain injuries is limited, and as a result, many are not receiving the comprehensive support needed to improve their quality of life. The Wynn Trust is dedicated to filling this critical gap by providing financial aid, rehabilitation services, and support programs that can significantly enhance the well-being of those affected.

Thomas Mills High School (UK, 7605059) Browse events

YTD Raised: £3,367.80

Inspired by the recent refurbishments to provide state of the art facilities for Music and Art/Photography, the School wants to build on its enterprising culture to update some of the science labs. Thomas Mills parents, friends and community have a history of rising to such challenges; they did it in 1996 to raise £100,000 to match fund a government grant to enable us to become a Technology College School, in 1997 with the Brick Appeal to build the maths block and again in 1999 to build a new English block, allowing us to get rid of the last of the 13 mobile classrooms! Current students and parents have benefitted from this and we believe it is now our turn to rise to the challenge and have therefore formed a new committee called the Income Generation Group (IGG) which comprises teachers, governors and parents, and we need your help.
