Australian Wildlife Trust (UK, 1126703) Browse events

YTD Raised: £4,834.18

Australian Wildlife Trust is a UK based non-profit organisation established in 2008 to raise awareness and supporters.  Our aim is to ensure effective conservation measures continue across Australia protecting its unique wildlife and their habitats.  Working in collaboration with organisations, like Australian Wildlife Conservancy, who implement innovative conservation practises and are preventing further extinctions.  Australia is one of the most important nations on Earth for biodiversity - 87% of our mammal species, 93% of reptiles, 94% of frogs and 45% of our bird species are found only in Australia. This unique display of nature sprawled across an ancient land make it a majestic backyard well worth protecting. However, Australia has the worst wildlife extinction record in the world. More than 1,700 species of animals and plants are listed by the Australian Government as being at risk of extinction. Nearly 1 in 4 of our mammal species and around 1 in 7 of our bird species are listed as threatened and that number will increase dramatically unless significant change to conservation methods occur now.   We need your help: please donate,  run the race,  ride like the wind or climb that mountain! Your support of Australian Wildlife Trust will help save Australia's threatened species. We are registered charity no: 1126703 and all donations to AWT are tax deductible in the United Kingdom.

Friends of Salaam Baalak Trust (UK) (UK, 1134990) Browse events

YTD Raised: £4,817.30

Up to 176 million Indian children are estimated to lack adequate care and protection, as they struggle to survive on the fringes of India's economic explosion - a number equivalent to well over twice the total population of the UK. Millions of children lead desperately difficult lives in appalling conditions, reminiscent of the poverty of Victorian London but on a subcontinental scale. Friends of Salaam Baalak Trust UK (FoSBT) believes that children in the 21st century should not suffer from such a gross lack of opportunity, and works towards easing the pain, leveling the playing field and igniting the potential of as many as possible of these modern-day Oliver(ia) Twists.
