AOG is a society of likeminded UK dentists. The main aims and objectives are :To promote and advance current concepts of dentistry in order to improve dental services to the public through peer review and friendship. It is a society which encourages the whole of dental industry together.Through her partner society, AOG Foundation Ltd, it promotes charitable activities in the UK and abroad.AOG welcomes everyone to partake in her activities.AOG Chronology is a brief summary for full history click hereAOG roots start in the mid 1970s, there were a small group of mainly Asian dental students who formed a study and social club at the Royal London Dental Hospital. They were bound by their common origins and their aspirations to qualify as dentists. A tutor, Dr Louis Joseph, suggested that this genial camaraderie be capitalised upon and continue to support other dentists with similar aspirations. It with this background the AOG (Anglo Asian Odontogical Group) was formally incepted in 1981. The organisation soon grew and found other like-minded dental groups to work with. Please donate to support our cause. This charity has been set up to help a very keen and deserving British student to pursue a five year Dental Course to gain the qualification of BDS at King’s Dental School and Hospital in London. He comes from a very financially compromised family. Because this is his 2nd degree he is not eligible for Tuition Fees Grant or Student Loan. He will qualify for the NHS Bursary in the Final year and so we need to raise £36,000 @£9,000/year.Of this, Dinesh Jani personally have pledged £9000 for one year. With the help of various people putting their hands in their pockets and coming up with whatever they can, we can collectively help this young person achieve his ambition and get a person to be on his feet. There can be no greater Charity than helping a person to get to a stage whereby he can stand on his feet doing what he yearns for.As the old saying goes give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.Kindly join me in this Charitable Project to help this young man see his ambition come to fruition. The main aim of Sponsor A Gambian Teacher (SAGT) is to promote the education of children in The Gambia, West Africa. SAGT works to provide individual Gambian people with the opportunity to train as a teacher, work as a teacher and be supported in their teaching of local children. In the academic year 2012 / 13 two student teachers have been training and teaching in Mansa Colley Bojang Nursery School in the village of Jallanbang, near Brikama in The Gambia. In our second year, (2013/14), we have been able to sponsor a further two students who are working at Mansa Colley Bojang Nursery School. There is the potential for so much more to be done as other schools in the Western Division look to support their unqualified staff by giving them the opportunity to train as teachers. Our charity is now looking to being able to support this work through further donations. If you have been able to donate, then on behalf of those students and children in The Gambia you are helping, I thank you very much indeed. In January 2014, Steve will be returning to The Gambia to visit the school, students, university staff and families of the children being taught by our sponsored teachers. A full report of this visit will be available on our website. A reminder that none of the money donated through this site will be used for this venture. All donations and fundraising efforts will be going directly to support the people in The Gambia. 100% of your money goes completely to the people you gave it to.
