Colombian Happy Faces is a small charity committed to fighting child poverty in Colombia, South America. Often working directly with street children, past projects have included getting orphaned and abandoned children into a care centre when they had previously been forced to work and beg at traffic lights just to survive. Our current project is co-funding a residential home and care centre for children with AIDS in Neiva, south-west Colombia. The building structure has now been completed but funds are urgently needed to complete the fit-out and provide the specialist equipment that is essential to help care for these sick children. Colombian Happy Faces is run on an entirely voluntary basis so every penny of your donation goes directly to helping some of the most disadvantaged children in South America.

We give respite holidays (within the UK) to families who have a child suffering with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Every family we help has been referred to us by their CF child's hospital. The children and their families come from all over the UK and we help almost 200 families each year. When a family is referred to us they are never turned down for a holiday. However, they occasionally have to wait until we have sufficient funds available to be able to help them. Once we are able to offer them a respite holiday we ask the family where they want to go and when (within our budgetary constraints) and then book the holiday for them. If needed we also help with travel to and from their selected holiday venue.

How do we spend your money? The cricket centre loses money each year, we tread a very delicate line between charging for our facilities but also making it such a small amount that local clubs and individuals come to centre, use it, bring their friends who may be interested in playing the beautiful game of cricket. The centre is due in 2016 to refit it's playing surfaces - currently from funds it does not have.
