MISSION STATEMENT:Our mission is to provide support to the children’s education for families who are in poverty and are affected by CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) in Sri Lanka, through donating school kits, projects to build houses and the provision of safe drinking water. WHY OUR HELP IS NEEDED: Most of the families have members who are suffering from severe illnesses and are spending what little money they have on medicine. This leaves nothing to support their children's education. Without education, the children are less likely to reach their full potential or access opportunities in adulthood. We hope to change this for as many children as possible. WORK SO FAR (AUGUST 2017):• Provided 136 school kits which include bags, shoes, exercise books, a water bottle and a full set of stationary • Identified 11 families who are living in extreme poverty without clean water, electricity and access to food and clothing• Built 1 house in January 2017OUR NEXT PROJECTS:• To build further 10 houses by August 2019. Discussion is currently underway to secure the land and now we need to raise the adequate funds• To build a water purifying centre• Medical camps • Continue supply of school kits Charity No: 1174191 Find out more Facebook http://www.facebook.com/mkadsfoundation/
