Based in Ashington, Samaritans of Northumbria is one of 200 Samaritans branches across the UK and Ireland. Together, we provide a service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing emotional support to people experiencing distress or despair, including thoughts that may lead to suicide. Our service is confidential: we dont judge and we dont give advice. We do listen and provide human contact for people, some of whom may be in very great distress. We can be contacted by phone, email, or face to face by dropping in to our centre. All our work is carried out by volunteers, but we still have a building to maintain and bills to pay: it costs us in excess of £20,000 a year to keep running, and we are entirely dependent on donations. Your support will allow us to keep answering callers in crisis. Thank you!

Our mission is to save and improve lives of individuals with anorexia nervosa and their families by: Our message is that anorexia nervosa (AN) is a condition a person is genetically predisposed to have. It is triggered by weight loss which, in turn, can be initiated by a variety of factors. It is neither a lifestyle choice nor a condition that can be afflicted by families or society. Scientific research has proven that AN has genetic components. This understanding is essential for two main reasons: The AN process is well understood: while most people can afford to diet and lose weight throughout their lives, individuals predisposed with AN need to realize that weight loss may result in an out-of-control psychobiological spiral, leading to even further weight loss. The possible implications of this weight loss should be realised and acepted by sufferers, family and friends who should also celebrate the high achieving personality traits and sensitive nature often associated with those predisposed to AN.

Our goal is to provide a place for young kids to go and learn the beautiful game of football and to encourage them to play football in their spare time instead of just walking the streets getting bored. Our Football Club has some of the best facilities around with two full size pitches with under soil drainage along with two small sided pinches for our junior section, we also are in partnership with South Notts Collage and have first refusal on their brand new 3g pitch which gives us a safe place to train in the winter months. Our next major goal is to get floodlights for the ground along with getting the Car Park re-surfaced, next year is our 50th year and it would be a massive success story if we can get the flood lights installed during that year. Please help us achivece our get goal and be part of our amazing clubs history and future.

To donate in lieu of buying tickets for the Rosita Trust Midsummer Festival, please pay as normal and write a message in the box, stating what you are donating for. LAST ORDERS MIDNIGHT THURSDAY 21ST JUNE ........HAPPY SOLSTICE! The Rosita Trust was launched in May 2011 to commemorate Polly Renton and her daughter Rosita Fenwick Wilson. The charity is focused on media development and ethical journalism in Kenya. In 2001 Polly arrived in Kenya as a young television director, making documentaries for Channel 4. She was frustrated by what she saw on Kenyan television - soap operas, re-runs ofold sitcoms, chat shows and low quality local news programmes. She felt that Kenyans deserved better and established MEDEVA (Media Development in Africa) www.medevatv.com A decade after she arrived in Kenya, MEDEVA continues to flourish. It makes several highly popular TV programmes for nationwide broadcast and it has trained over two hundred young people from East Africa in TV and Radio programme making. Many have won major awards. The Rosita Trust helps identify and offer young Africans an opportunity to have a voice, often in adversity, through filmmaking and radio. It also gives one-off grants to other worthwhile causes in Kenya. This is what Polly believed in, and would have continued to do. The Trust is administered under the trusteeship of Polly's family and friends. Its patrons are the film-maker Lord Puttnam, and the veteran broadcasters, David Dimbleby and Sir David Frost.

We are New Highway and we provide free, confidential services for anyone concerned about their own, or someone else’s drug use or drinking. We believe that people can and should be able to overcome the negative consequences of problem drug and alcohol use. We enable this through providing high quality and effective advice, support and treatment. Please support us. Problem drug and alcohol use can rob any one of us of our opportunity to live a happy and fulfilling life. In England alone there are estimated to be a third or a million problem drug users and 1.6 million people with some level of alcohol dependency. Problem drug and alcohol use has many negative consequences for the people directly concerned, their families, friends and colleagues, the communities they live in and society as a whole. In financial terms alone the costs are estimated to amount to £15.3 billion a year to the English economy for drugs and £25.1 billion to the UK economy for alcohol. We help hundreds of people to move away from chaotic states towards stability. We provide the treatment, counselling and guidance that those individuals need in order for them to tackle the root causes. This in turn has a positive impact on the communities around them. We can do more of this with your help.

Who are we? We are an official Charitable Body with an elected Board of Trustees and a group of volunteers working together with the NHS Primary Care Trust. What do we do? We run the Hospital Shop, the two Coffee Shops and the daily Ward Trolleys. Also, we have book sales, collecting boxes for loose change in the Hospital Foyer and collecting tins around the Island. Why do we do it? To supplement the excellent service already provided by St Mary’s by financing extra facilities which enhance the lives of patients, staff and visitors alike. In recent years, the League of Friends has provided much-needed equipment which has contributed to patient well-being, both during their stay in hospital and also in community care. Since the League of Friends, now the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital, was founded, hundreds of thousands of pounds have been raised. Approximately half a million pounds has been donated from the takings achieved by the volunteers since the year 2000.
The Friends of Windlesham Village Infant School exists to raise funds that will directly benefit the children of Windlesham Village Infant School, according to the 'wish list' of needs and requirements as suggested by the parents and the teachers of the School. Sometimes this will be a result of the children's project work - Such as designing a new area for the playground. At other times it will be For resources to improve a particular area of the curriculum or School environment. In the main the Friends' Funds are for the 'extras' not provided by the School budget, that make our children's learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting.
