(UK, 1144121) Browse eventsAngels Charity was set up to make a difference for some of the worlds poorset children. We wanted to find ways to help them in a practical sense, but more than that, we wanted to give them hope, to help them realise that maybe there could be a different life for them beyond the slums. The reality of children living in extreme poverty and on the streets poses great challenges. Angels has developed initiatives that provide a lifeline, help to restoreself-esteem, provide hope and make the transition back into society and school life easier. A simple fun musical educational and feeding programme focuses on the children's traditional musical culture whilst at the same time teaches phonics through song lyrics both in their native language and in English. After these fun sessions we feed the children and, through our '3 Bags Full' programme provide them with better clothes, the basics for keeping clean and much needed rudimentary educational equipment for school life. Together, these simple initiatives can have a profound and lasting impact on the lives.
