Educators International (EI) supports system-level education change in poor countries by providing UK expert advice at low cost, through highly qualified volunteer consultants. We head-hunt experienced professional educators and managers willing to volunteer their time for free, and match them to developing countries’ needs for advice and expertise. We work across all phases, from early childhood to secondary, vocational and university levels. If our volunteers need to travel abroad, we make all necessary arrangements, and the local government meets the out-of-pocket costs. They may also provide continuing support from the UK. EI’s unique feature is our ability at minimal cost to transfer system-level education expertise across continents. The knowledge transfer goes both ways, because our volunteers’ involvement in key education reforms overseas enriches the UK education system.
