Christ Church in Lancaster operates an emergency winter nightshelter for adults in Lancaster and the surrounding areas. We provide a non-judgemental and welcoming atmosphere for those who have no other means of accommodation. We are open 7 nights of the week and anyone is welcome to just turn up! The shelter is open each year from the end of October until Easter. The shelter is funded by donations from parishioners at Christ Church other Churches and local groups and schools. We also receive grants from local trusts. We welcome gifts of blankets, tinned food, biscuits tea and coffee etc We have a paid co-ordinator and deputy but volunteers are always needed.
