(UK, 1086093) Thank you for visiting the 1st Castleberg (Settle) Scouts page on My Donate.Every year the Scouts help 400,000 young people in the UK enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.1st Castleberg Scouts currently provide these opportunities to around 100 children and young people from Settle and the surrounding area through our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers groups. We value our links with the local community and are grateful for the depth of good will and practical support we receive from local people. In return we strive to help our young people become responsible, well rounded and contributing members of society. And we aim to do that in ways which are fun, provide new experiences and challenges and which we hope will provide a foundation for our young people's further growth later on.

(UK, 1168019) Samaritans provides confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide. Samaritans have had a Branch in Salisbury for over 40 years. The doors are open 12 hours a day to visitors, and we aim to have two telephones manned for 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We have approximately 100 volunteers, taking over 42,000 caller contacts in a year, of which nearly 17,000 are of significant length - an average of appromiately 450 and 180 per volunteer per year respectively, well above the national average. This reflects the dedication, and hard work, of our volunteers. In addition, our speakers give presentation talks to schools, colleges, clubs and other organisations. Samaritans can be contacted by telephone, by letter, by email and by visiting the branch in Milford Street - over 95% of contacts are by telephone but email contact is growing.

YTD Raised: £0.00In the UK more than 4000 babies a year are stillborn, many for no apparent reason. That is 10 a day. This statistic has not improved in 20 years. We are raising money and awareness for stillbirth research. All proceeds go to the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre at St Marys Hospital, Manchester. Stillbirth is a devastating thing to happen and funding is desperately needed to help reduce the numbers. I started this charity in memory of my first baby Holly who died when I was 9 months pregnant.
