Having migrated to the UK from India, via East Africa in the 1960s, they saw the power of education in driving their children to successful and happy lifestyles. They sought to replicate these opportunities amongst poor children constrained by poverty via The Bhardwaj Trust. The funds of the Trust, raised through the generosity of contributions from friends and family, have helped many children over the years to achieve and education, get a good living, and help to bring their families out of a poor living. The administrative expenses in running the Trust are borne privately by the Trustees and all the funds raised go towards the objects of The Bhardwaj Trust.

The project has been operating from Lossiemouth since 2007 and works with schools, youth organisations, community groups and families across Moray providing a wide range of affordable and accessible outdoor activities.  Outfit Moray was founded in 2003, and we have worked with over 14,000 children and young people across Moray; building confidence, self-esteem and resilience, providing positive role models and encouraging the acquisition of life skills and new experiences, through challenge and positive risk taking.We have a focus on providing opportunities and activities for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, including those at risk, those with difficult home lives, those with a disability, those that have offended and those considered as at the margins of society. We run both one-off and longer-term programmes, sometimes working with the same young people over a number of weeks or months. The Friends of St Monica's School is the registered charity of St Monica's RC Primary School in Southgate whose soul aim is to organise fund raising events to provide additional finance for the educational development of the children who attend the school. St Monica's is a "voluntary-aided" school. This means that the school receives all it's running costs from the local authority, but unlike a "maintained" school, we will only receive up to 90% of our capital costs from the government and this is where The Friends step in to pick up this shortfall. We are fortunate at our school to have a PTA that is, and has been, an integral part of the school community for over 35 years. In its time, The Friends has raised many thousands of pounds, which have been spent on equipment and resources to enhance our children's educational experience and the school's facilities. The Friends exist to provide closer links between home and school and helps bring staff, parents and friends together to work towards our common goal - improving the learning and social environment for our children. Every parent or guardian whose child attends St Monica's automatically becomes a member of The Friends and we are always grateful for those who take the next step to join our committee or participate in our many fundraising activities throughout the year.
