Our present target is to complete the Discovery Centre Media Centre. Please see the photographs of the building. We want to raise £5,000 to furnish it and provide equipment for local children to produce music, videos and photographs. Thanks you

(UK, 1167299) Browse eventsIn September 2015 our founder, Nora Carlin, was deeply moved, as were so many others in the UK, by the pictures of little Aylun Kurdi washed up on a Turkish beach. It brought home to many of us the tragedy and seriousness of the Syrian refugee crisis. In response she set up a Facebook page to coordinate the collection of aid, mainly clothes and food, to send to the refugees. The response was overwhelming and was accompanied with offers of help and volunteers to sort and pack the aid. It was clear that people desperately wanted to help and that there was great need.CARE UK was born and we were registered with the Charity Commission in May 2016. Today we continue our work of sending aid to Syria and Greece and in addition we are working to support refugees and assylum seekers who are now living in the North West. There were, and still are, millions of Syrian refugees as well as many millions of people in need of help both here and abroad. Our motto is 'helping those in need, wherever they are'. With the help of our dedicated and enthusiastic supporters we hope to be able to continue to do so for many years to come. Our latest challenge:We are currently raising funds to send a further two containers of aid to the Greek islands to arrive before Christmas. To send these containers will cost around £6,800.
