The AV Foundation is an educational charity supporting rural schools in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It was established by the volunteering organisation Africa & Asia Venture ("AV") to help enhance the quality of school education in the communities served by AV volunteers. Discovery Centre is a unique residential facility on over 20 acres of ground close to Lake Victoria in Uganda. The project is run in partnership with UK registered charity Adventure Projects Trust and YWAM (Youth With A Mission), Uganda. It was established in 1994 as a response to the dire situation in regard to AIDS in the country at that time. Through its educational, recreational and sporting activities it has influenced many young people, providing them with an environment in which they can find the opportunity to release their potential as whole people, in respect of their physical, emotional, social and spiritual well being. Our present target is to complete the Discovery Centre Media Centre. Please see the photographs of the building. We want to raise £5,000 to furnish it and provide equipment for local children to produce music, videos and photographs. Thanks you
