Founded in 2000, The Big Draw (formally The Campaign for Drawing) is an arts education charity that promotes visual literacy and the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention. This long established autumn Ride starts and ends at Broomfields, Fulbrook Lane, Elstead, Surrey, GU8 6LG and has approximately 40 optional jumps from 1’6” to 3’3” in height. The course is about 8 miles in length crossing private woodland, farmland and commons providing wonderful views of the Surrey countryside. In 2005 the Friends celebrated their 50th Anniversary successfully raising £47,000 during the year. It is commonly thought that the Health Service does , or should provide all that is needed for hospitals. However, a moments reflection will show that this is not possible. During the last 20 years the Friends have raised approximately £400,000 which has been used to provide facilities for the patients, their carers and staff.
