MEALS: A contribution of just £5 per child per month will provide a full, nutritionally balanced meal every school day for a Kisasa child. Part of this funding will be used to introduce a self-sustainable food growing and management system in order that the school will eventually be able to take responsibility for producing its own food. DESKS: There is currently a shortage of 180 desks in a school with over 1200 students. Each desk sits 3 children and costs £33 per desk that’s £11 per child. If you buy a single seat or a whole desk, you may apply your name or the name of someone special you nominate as a gift. We’ll email you or your nominated recipient a uniquely numbered voucher confirming your purchase. When your desk is built and labelled, we’ll send you a digital photograph of it. (Hopefully with a smiling student sitting on it, or three if you buy a whole desk)! To donate to AZAR or buy a student seat or full desk click the Make A Donation link on the right.

John Banner was a Hotel and Catering lecturer at Southfields College (which is now Leicester College) and a Fellow of what was then the HCIMA. He left his legacy to the East Midlands to support the development and enrichment of students pursuing careers in the hotel and catering industry. The Hospitality Industry accounts for 1 in 14 of all UK jobs i.e. approx 2 million jobs. The public sector austerity measures will impact heavily on students enrolling on Hotel & Catering educational and training programmes in the coming years. Cuts in the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), and Adult Funding and Entitlement will mean that the support of the John Banner Scholarship Fund will become fundamentally important to enable students to complete their studies and fulfil their career ambitions. Here are a few practical examples of ways in which the fund aims to help students, e.g.: Logo designed by www.aeriform.co.uk
Both schools have ambitious development plans to which the PSA wouldlike to contribute. In the infant school, our aim is to extend the canopies outside thereception classes (which were co-funded by the PSA) along both the year one and yeartwo classes. For the junior school, the goal is to refurbish the round hall. The hall sits atthe heart of the school and is a wonderfully unique feature that desperately needsupdating. Money raised by the PSA has an incredibly positive impact on our children’s schoolexperience. From subsidising a wide range of clubs for both schools to giving every Year4 child the chance to learn an instrument; from funding a Christmas panto for the infantchildren to providing a monthly library budget for junior school children to choose newbooks; and from purchasing tablets and microscopes to helping fund major projects suchas the wildlife garden, the Year 1 playground and the quiet area in the junior schoolplayground, the impact of everyone’s fundraising efforts is clearly evident throughout bothschools. So, if you'd like to contribute, we've made it really easy for you, or another family member, to make a donation to the schools. And, because we're registered for GiftAid we can potentially add a further 25% to your donation!! Thank you for your support in helping us make a real difference to our children. Charity No: 1012712

The existing playground for our younger children is in need of replacement, and we have a plan in place to provide an outstanding facility that will be enjoyed for years to come. The new area has been designed by Wicksteed Playgrounds, a UK company that has 100 years of experience providing inspirational play spaces that meet the highest safety standards. The new playground will include swings, a roundabout, seesaw, interactive play panels and a dinosaur-themed climbing frame with slide. The equipment will also cater for wheelchair-bound children and sensory areas will help those with autism and learning difficulties. The site of the playground will move next to the village hall, enabling easier wheelchair access and use of our other facilities. The cost of the playground will be around £56,000; to date, we have raised about £49,000. With your support to get us over the line, the playground can become a reality in the first half of 2019. Please get involved with cake sales, sponsored runs and any other ways that you can think of. Follow our Facebook page for regular updates and get in touch with your fundraising ideas. Aston & Cote Community Trust (registered charity 304258) is responsible for the care and management of the village hall, recreation field and the playgrounds on Cote Road, Aston, Oxfordshire. Through careful management of our facilities by a team made up of volunteers, mostly from the local organisations themselves, we help to provide essential services. These include a number of sports and fitness groups and a social support group for the elderly. Charity No: 304258 Find out more Facebook https://www.facebook.com/AstonCote/
We provide emergency food parcels to people referred to us through over 50 agencies locally. We also run a More Than Food project in the longer school holidays called 'The Holiday Shack' where we provide activities and a hot meal for the whole family - this is through referrals from The Childrens' Centre. All our food is donated by the public but we rely on funding and donations to meet our running costs to enable us to provide this service for those in need in our community. Over 50 volunteers give around 50 hours a week to serve our community through the foodbank. We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
