Fylde District Scout Council (UK, 701174) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Fylde District Scout Council oversees the operational running of Scout Groups in Fylde District, West Lancashire. It also runs, operates, and maintains a campsite and activity centre of 5 acres in St. Annes. See our website for further details. In July 2010 we were hit by an arson attack which completely destroyed our main building comprising of an activity hall, showers, toilets, kichen and dormitory accommodation for up to 40 persons. We were hit by a second arson attack in March this year which destroyed our toilet and shower block for campers together with our workshop and garaging facilities for our grass cutters and tractor (which were also destroyed). Our insurers have taken on resposibility for the rebuild of this unit, and it is currently under way. In order to keep our campsite open we have had to purchase a portaloo unit from our own funds until the new toilets and showers are rebuilt. Meanwhile our aim is to have the new main building ready and fit for the  twenty first century up and running by Easter 2012. Our modern accommodation this time will hold up to 56 persons on two floors, with a state of the art kitchen unit, showers, toilets, conference room, activity centre and a scout shop. See our website. Your help is vitally important to our cause, if you want a look around our facilities contact us through our website, and we will be only too happy to give you "The Grand Tour".

Dan spent one year in hospital fighting for his life and overcoming enormous emotional and physical challenges of being so severely paralysed. Rapid Aid Community First Responders (UK, 1135529) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Rapid Aid community First Responders, are based in Middleton near Tamworth, Staffordshire. We serve the community as a voluntary organisation that provides support to West Midlands Ambulance service, by responding to 999 calls with the area we cover. When a patient dials 999, we are dispatched by the emergency operations centre to commence treatment prior to the arrival of an ambulance. As we are based in the local community we can arrive on scene sooner than an ambulance, this can be invaluable in cases of cardiac arrest. We are never sent instead of an ambulance always in addition to the ambulance. The area we cover expands throughout Middleton, Tamworth, drayton Bassett, Bassets Pole, Sutton Coldfield, Chelmsley Wood, Coleshill, Water Orton, Curdworth, Kingsbury, Lea Marston and many more surrounding areas. All this cover doesnt come cheap though, with the increase in fuel prices and VAT it costs nearly £800 per month just to keep the vehicles on the road. We are always looking for donations, sponsorship and support from the general public and local businesses. If you feel you could help in any way then please contact us (details below). Rapid-Aid is a registered charity and as such all funds are gained from donations or fundraising events. Each responder volunteers their own time to respond to 999 emergencies. Please help us to help you.
