The Stone Foundation is the charitable arm of Mavam and provides support and housing for people who struggle to access and sustain housing themselves.We aim to source property in the private sector where it is particularly difficult for people on no or low incomes to obtain housing, but also work with Local Authorities and other organisations to achieve our aims.We work closely with YLOH, whose staff team provide tenancy support to our tenants as well as Mavam Supported Housing. The Stone Foundation's latest and exciting initiative is 'Pre-Tenancy Training' which aims to provide people who have never had a home of their own before, or who have lost a tenancy in the past, with all the skills necessary to help them manage a tenancy. The 3 -4 day course, delivered from a flat covers everything from debt management, budgeting and understanding banking and taxation to general home hygiene, nutrition and cooking and understanding the rights and responsibilities of renting a home.
