New Ways strives to promote human development in the poorest and most neglected parts of the world by supporting projects (mostly, health, education, agriculture and water resources) that enables local communities to take responsibility for their own lives. We work predominantly in Northern Kenya. Our primary project is covering the running cost of 22 Nutritional Nursery schools (feeding 1,600 children).
Calderdale Parents and Carers (CPC) is a parent-led organisation which provides support, advice, advocacy, information, and training to parents and carers of children with additional needs. CPC also support parents to have a say in the development of statutory health and social care services.
Oxford Food Bank has dual aims of reducing food waste and supplying fresh food to other charities who feed needy members of the local community. The organisation is run solely by volunteers so we can supply around £25 of food for each pound received in donations! Help us to make a difference today.
Our 2018 Longford Lecture will take place on Wednesday 28 November, when Jon Snow will be joined by three Longford Scholars and actor, Michael Balogun, to discuss "How To Stop People Doing Crime". We suggest a donation of £10 per person for each ticket. Tickets must be booked via our website.
