YTD Raised: £0.00We are a UK and Kenyan Charity supporting the people of an urban slum area of Mombasa through education of children, young people and women. We have opened a primary school for 150 children in classes of 25 with excellent qualified teachers, a feeding programme and a computer suite. Adult literacy classes provide education to those who did not go to school. We have trained women to give them business skills and have started providing microfinance to a small group. We dug a well, gave health education to women and provided mosquito nets to every family in the community The level of preventable disease is now much lower. There is a high level of disenchanted, unemployed youth. We are supporting two football clubs, a boxing club, volley ball and drama group and motivation is now much higher. Our school is in a rented building which is now full. We have bought a plot of land and hope to start building soon. Our new school will take children from 3 to 14 years, will include a health clinic for our children and their families and a sport's hall which will be available to the community out of school hours.
