Mid Surrey Dementia Care Trust operates the Conservatory Club which is a small social club for people with memory difficulties to help them retain their communication and social skills. It also provides relief to carers from the demanding responsibilities of caring.
The Muslim Association of Newry was established in January 2013 for the benefit of Muslim families in Newry & Mourne and surrounding areas of Co Down. The Muslim community has gradually increased in the area and there is a pressing need to support social, cultural and religious needs of the community. The Association support and promote the welfare of Muslim families, providing education especially to children as well as religious guidance to families. The Association raise funds for charity to support variety of organisations and individuals in the community. The Association has been involved in activities with cross cultural and interfaith links for promotion of religious, social and cultural harmony and integration, and hopes to hold events, lectures, fund raising activities, with other organisations in the community. The Association is attempting to acquire premises to hold its cultural, educational and social activities.
