MEALS: A contribution of just £5 per child per month will provide a full, nutritionally balanced meal every school day for a Kisasa child. Part of this funding will be used to introduce a self-sustainable food growing and management system in order that the school will eventually be able to take responsibility for producing its own food. DESKS:  There is currently a shortage of 180 desks in a school with over 1200 students.  Each desk sits 3 children and costs £33 per desk that’s £11 per child. If you buy a single seat or a whole desk, you may apply your name or the name of someone special you nominate as a gift.  We’ll email you or your nominated recipient a uniquely numbered voucher confirming your purchase.  When your desk is built and labelled, we’ll send you a digital photograph of it.  (Hopefully with a smiling student sitting on it, or three if you buy a whole desk)! To donate to AZAR or buy a student seat or full desk click the Make A Donation link on the right.

Click on 'Nick's Bike Ride' link on the left for the latest activity! « « « here The John Banner Scholarship Fund is a registered charity that strives for the: “PROVISION OF SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS, FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND PRIZES FOR COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, WITHIN THE EAST MIDLANDS, INTENT ON A CAREER IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY.” It covers Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and Nottinghamshire. John Banner was a Hotel and Catering lecturer at Southfields College (which is now Leicester College) and a Fellow of what was then the HCIMA. He left his legacy to the East Midlands to support the development and enrichment of students pursuing careers in the hotel and catering industry. The Hospitality Industry accounts for 1 in 14 of all UK jobs i.e. approx 2 million jobs. The public sector austerity measures will impact heavily on students enrolling on Hotel & Catering educational and training programmes in the coming years. Cuts in the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), and Adult Funding and Entitlement will mean that the support of the John Banner Scholarship Fund will become fundamentally important to enable students to complete their studies and fulfil their career ambitions. Here are a few practical examples of ways in which the fund aims to help students, e.g.: Logo designed by www.aeriform.co.uk

Rokesly Schools PSA (UK, 1012712) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

Both schools have ambitious development plans to which the PSA wouldlike to contribute. In the infant school, our aim is to extend the canopies outside thereception classes (which were co-funded by the PSA) along both the year one and yeartwo classes. For the junior school, the goal is to refurbish the round hall. The hall sits atthe heart of the school and is a wonderfully unique feature that desperately needsupdating. Money raised by the PSA has an incredibly positive impact on our children’s schoolexperience. From subsidising a wide range of clubs for both schools to giving every Year4 child the chance to learn an instrument; from funding a Christmas panto for the infantchildren to providing a monthly library budget for junior school children to choose newbooks; and from purchasing tablets and microscopes to helping fund major projects suchas the wildlife garden, the Year 1 playground and the quiet area in the junior schoolplayground, the impact of everyone’s fundraising efforts is clearly evident throughout bothschools. So, if you'd like to contribute, we've made it really easy for you, or another family member, to make a donation to the schools. And, because we're registered for GiftAid we can potentially add a further 25% to your donation!! Thank you for your support in helping us make a real difference to our children. Charity No: 1012712
