Elsfield PCC is responsible for co-operating with the incumbent, the Revd Anthony Price, in promoting the pastoral, evangelical, social and ecumenical mission of the Church throughout the parish. It is also responsible for the maintenance of the Church building in Elsfield. The parish church of St Thomas of Canterbury has stood in this small rural village, North-East of Oxford, since at least 1122. In 1849 and 1859, when the Revd Richard Gordon was vicar, the building was restored in the English Gothic style and new seating was installed under the supervision of G. E. Street. The Salviati mosaics - It is thought that the mosaics were installed behind the altar in the 1860s or 1870s. The central panel on the east wall depicts the Last Supper after Leonardo da Vinci’s painting of the same subject in Milan. The mosaics are by Antonio Salviati (1816-1890), the founder of a glass making and mosaic company based at Murano near Venice, who installed mosaics in a large number of churches and cathedrals in Great Britain including the Wolsey Chapel at Windsor Castle, the Albert Memorial, St Pauls Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. Fundraising - The Elsfield PCC is raising £50,000 to restore these outstanding mosaics, described by scholars as a "National treasure".

The aim of the Be Your Best Foundation is to encourage young people to lead healthy lifestyles and to be their best without the need for tobacco, alcohol or other drugs. Our vision is to contribute to improving the quality of life for all of society by encouraging young people to take an active role in building safe and healthy communities. The Foundation supports initiatives that contribute to: * The reduction of drug misuse and crime amongst young people; * The advancement of education and - particularly - the education of children and young people in the value of discipline, hard work and good citizenship; * The promotion of health and the prevention of sickness, particularly that caused by or related to alcohol, tobacco, drug use or any other aspect of modern lifestyles which are prejudicial to health; * The provision of facilities for recreation and positive leisure time activities. At the present time the sole project of the Foundation has been to facilitate the production and expansion of Rock Challenge in the United Kingdom. The Rock Challenge is a unique and exciting opportunity for schools to take part in a dance, drama and design spectacular where the young people are the stars. While the result is a professional event staged in some of the UK’s top venues, the main aim of the Rock Challenge is to encourage participants to have fun while enjoying a 100% drug, alcohol and tobacco free experience. This year, over 320 schools and over 18,000 students took part in 45 Rock Challenge events across the UK. Teams as small as 10 or as large as 135 students, plan an eight minute performance around a theme of their choice, set to commercially available music and bring it to one of our local shows. The teams spend the days rehearsing, making friends and having fun before performing in the evening in front of a live audience made up of family, friends, local sponsors and a panel of expert judges.

90+is a Sports Ministry that exists to see people transformed through knowing Jesus Christ. We support the Local church across the Uk to use sport as a tool to share the Gospel. Through discipleship, events and outreach opportunities we are helping the church use what is an international language in sport for Gospel purposes. For some sport is an identity a culture and a lifestyle. However the church can use this as a tool to reach out to the sports community to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Sport can also be a great tool to 'do life' with one another and so 90+ helps to encourage the use of sport as a missional lifestyle. 90+ also runs a discipleship programme for christian athletes. The 2 month academy programme trains, equips and teaches these athletes about using their platform as pro's for Gods glory. Following the 2months, 90+ aims to send out these sports men into clubs and teams as chaplains. More information on the work of 90+ can be found at www.ninetyplusministries.com Giving page for James Jaggard at 90+ ministries
Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. SAMs is a unique Charity based in Glasgow. We aim to provide families who have children with special needs the opportunity to come along to our organised Clubs where the children can interact with others, play games and have fun while the parents relax and take time out. Every year we fundraise, apply for grants and do what we can to raise money to be able to take the group away on holiday to Scarborough for the week. During this time we organise everything from accommodation, transport, activities for the day/evening and much much more. This gives the children a great experience of an organised, fun-filled holiday that they, and their parents, find hard to enjoy under normal circumstances. Parents are given respite from the day-to-day care of their child(ren) and manage to be part of the holiday, taking part or taking time out as they see fit, knowing that their child(ren) are in the best of care.
