Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.KAPSA is the Kalkan Association for the Protection of Street Animals. Kalkan is a town on the Turkish Mediterranean Coast, and like most Turkish towns Kalkan has a large number of street animals - many of which have been abandoned. They live outdoors in all weathers, scavenge for food and sleep on the streets.Kapsa was set up to care for sick, injured and abandoned street animals – with the help of a local vet and network of dedicated volunteers living in and around the town. Kapsa has introduced a neutering programme – extended to the local villages – to prevent the birth of unwanted kittens and puppies. They also run an education scheme – going into schools and teaching children the importance of respecting animals. They operate a winter feeding programme – buying and distributing food for the animals in the winter months, and helping to find animals forever homes wherever possible. In summary, Kapsa aims to prevent pain, suffering, fear, hunger and disease within the street animal community. Kapsa’s vision is a Kalkan where street animals live healthy, happy lives in harmony with their human neighbours. Please donate to support our cause.Kapsa UK is a UK-based charity run by volunteers, whose main focus is to raise funds through a wide range of activities and initiatives.
